2012 marks the 11th year of photographing children for artist and former model Melissa Hutchinson. Recently shooting actress Selma Blair and her baby Saint, as featured aboved, was a highlight in her career. Over a decade of beautiful, haunting images of babies, children, and teenagers, along with the unparalleled ability to capture raw emotion between people have kept her schedule full from the start. Starting out handpainting vintage photos of children, she learned the art of photography herself and bypassed a career in television. Her style is "wholly motivated by a moment, much of which can never be planned. It's like no other feeling in the world seeing this through the lens...i literally lose my breath, i can't breathe. That's when I know I'm part of something much bigger."
